MARC-RESPONSIVE EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

The purpose of MARC is to enhance
the quality of life for individuals with developmental
disabilities. MARC achieves its purpose and defines its mission by:

    • advocating for full inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the life of the community.
    • fostering opportunities for individuals with disabilities to develop a sense of self-worth and dignity, acquire new skills, attitudes and experiences, and make choices among options for employment, recreation and social interaction.
    • providing an array of support services, tailored to individual strenghs, preferences and needs, including employment, adult education, training, personal care, case management, and
    • promoting communication, cooperation and collaboration among individuals with disabilities, their families and friends, and the community.

MARC-South Co-op program is designed for individuals with physical challenges that have resulted in difficulties with communication, and or mental functioning. The main focus of this program is to provide community integration.

Our program goals are to provide assessment, communication assistance, recreational experiences, educational activities, vocational exploration and developing job placement in the community.

We enhance the abilities of individuals that have limited opportunities to participate in different life experiences.

Each individual participant is provided an assessment, the information is shared with consumers, parents, guardians, brokers, residential staff and other service providers. Annual service plans are developed to assist with program goals.

Speech, occupational and physical therapy services are available for individual referrals. Individualized programs are frequently recommended by a physical, speech or occupational therapist. These include specific exercises, mobility and some ADL skills. These recommendation programs are in the home, community and center.

The Marc South programs are to develop skills that assist the individual to function independently. These skills are applied in community experiences. All areas of interest are integrated into program goals. These programs consist of computer skills with adaptive switches, music, recreational activities, art projects, sensory awareness, and adaptive bowling.

Marc South provides supportive employment services to the center participants, as referred. Our day service program also serve individuals with very high medical needs.

We also do small volume labor stuffing envelopes, labeling and collating for sub-contract jobs. These jobs are done accurately, efficiently and we are able to meet deadlines. The work done by the Marc South participants are done in a conscientious manner and quality control is important in maintaining our customers requests.
