MARC Stoughton is located on a quiet corner
with a woodland view from the work floor at 932 North Page Street.
Center-based and supported employment, day services, personal care and case management
are offered to area residents, including high school students from Stoughton High School.
Sheltered employment results from subcontracts with area businesses. Clients are paid a piece rate,
allowing each person to work at his/her own pace. Day services include classes on current events, physical
exercise, basic work habits, academics, computer awareness, social and leisure skills, cooking and meal planning,
banking and money management, shopping, mobility, personal safety, community awareness,
and pre-retirement activities and planning, and health class. Personal care is provided on an as needed basis.
Case management services include individual planning, client advocacy, funding requests and service coordination
to ensure continuity of care.
Supported employment occurs at area businesses such as Automation Plus,
Comfort Inn, Fosdal's Bakery,
and Stoughton Chamber of Commerce. MARC conducts job development to specify duties, provides training and
orientation, job transportation, and stays with the client until they've achieved the required quality standards.
MARC also trains the supervisors and employer in any special topics necessary.
Case management is provided for everyone, although the number of hours dedicated to case management depends
on individual needs.
Cost of service is dependent upon the number of staff hours necessary to fulfill Individual Support Plans.
Staff costs are calculated on the basis of the ratio of staff to clients, hence group services are less
costly on a per hour basis than one-on-one hours. Full-time and part-time services are available which includes
certain fixed costs allocated to each person. Most people purchase a combination of group and individual
services that their budget will afford.
We are especially pleased to host high school students under supervision by Stoughton School District Educational
Assistants. Students experience a work environment and are paid for work completed just like everyone else.
This work experience creates work skills and better prepares students for the world of work and adult life.
